Conversion Between Dialects

Speakers of Cantonese learning Mandarin and speakers of Mandarin learning Cantonese have a distinct advantage over students who do not have a background in Chinese. While the differences between the dialects are pronounced, most vocabulary and grammatical structures carry over.

The purpose of this section of the site is to help maximize those advantages. The charts and comparisons here may also be valuable to linguists.
